One other thing to add, in your advice to him:

What kind of value are you bringing to the person who visits your site?

How could you bring more value to the person visiting your site?

Joe you are right. i have been playing around way too long and now it’s time to get serious. but i just wanted to get a feel of how to construct sites, html code and the like. you’re advice is right on and it has been taken seriously.
